Bristol Academys unbeaten home record came to an end after a first home defeat to Lincoln Ladies.
Both teams returned to action after the league restarted after a 10 week break because of the Women’s World Cup in Germany. Bristol had the worst possible start after Grace McCatty’s back pass ended up in the back of the net past goalkeeper Siobhan Chamberlain.
Lincoln doubled their advantage when defender Leandra Little met Lucy Staniforth’s corner and headed towards the goal which was cleared of the line but Daly met the rebound and put the ball in the goal.
After the restart Anouk Hoogendijk’s chip from 35 yards out almost caught out Lincoln goalkeeper Nicola Hobbs.
McCatty pulled a goal back for the vixens after her shot went over the Lincoln goalkeeper. Moments later McCatty had an effort cleared off the line which fell to Ann-Marie Heatherson who’s shot went just wide.
Daley grabbed her second goal of the game four minutes later after the ball fell loose in the area and was tapped into the goal.
Bristol were awarded a penalty in the last minute after a handball by a Lincoln defender which was converted by Captain Corrine Yorston to make the score 3 – 2.
