Grace McCatty returned from a four game suspension to give the Vixens all three points in the last minute of injury time in a close game at the Stoke Gifford Stadium.
All five goals in the match came in an exciting second half compared to the first half.
Vixen’s captain Corrine Yorston came close to putting the Vixen’s ahead inside the first ten minutes when her free kick sailed just past the upright.
Doncaster’s first chance of the game came after 15 minutes when Millie Bright went through on goal but a smart save from Siobhan Chamberlain kept the score level.
Just before the break Chamberlain was on hand again for the Vixen’s as she kept out Jess Sigsworth at her near post.
Half Time 0 – 0
After a half of very little chances the second half saw plenty of action at either end. Leandra Little came close to giving Doncaster the lead but saw her header go just wide of the post and Bristol’s Ann-Marie Heatherson saw her header bounce back off the cross bar.
It was Jess Fishlock who broke the deadlock at the Stoke Gifford Stadium after 53 minutes when she followed her pass after playing into Nikki Watts who played Fishlock in behind the Doncaster defence who then placed the ball under the on coming Mary Earps.
Eight minutes later Doncaster equalised after Kasia Lipka spotted Chamberlain off her line and tried her luck and saw her effort just dipping into the goal.
Mel Lawley almost made it 2 – 1 after she cut in after a long pass from Jemma Rose and forced a good save from Earps.
It was Heatherson who restored the lead with 13 minutes to go when she rose to head home Yorston’s cross.
Heatherson almost added to her tally when she hit the bar from Fishlock’s corner in the 84th minute.
Doncaster substitute Bethany England almost took a point for the visitors when her free kick in the 89th minute went through the wall into the goal.
Grace McCatty came off the bench after returning from suspension to give the Vixen’s all three points. McCatty fired home for Bristol in the last minute of injury time after Yorston set her up from Fishlock’s free kick.
