Helen Bleazards first-half wonder strike gave Bristol Academy all three points away to Chelsea Ladies at the Imperial Fields.
Chelsea had the first chance of the game after two minutes when Katie Longhurst went through one v one and the Vixens goalkeeper Siobhan Chamberlain saved well.
After a competitive and heated first 25 minutes, Jade Raburns diagonal ball found Bleazard on the left hand side who then took on the Chelsea defence and shot from outside the area which beat goalkeeper Sarah Quantrill.
Chelsea’s best effort of the half was when Longhurst beat the offside trap and Chamberlain saved well and Ashlee Hincks's rebound went wide of the goal.
Both sides came close early on in the second half, Hincks set up Helen Lander who failed to find the target from close range after pressure from the Bristol Defence.
After 65 minutes Jemma Rose came close to scoring with a 45 yard free kick which was well held by Chelsea goalkeeper Quantrill after a foul on Jess Fishlock.
Rose came close again after a deadly corner from Bleazard found Rose who headed just wide.
Lillie Billson came close to scoring after she beat the Chelsea defence but Quantrill was quick off her line to nick the ball. Fishlock almost doubled the lead after she came close with a diving header in the closing stages.
