Ahead of The FA Women's Cup Final, Striker Ann-Marie Heatherson speaks to bristolacademywfc.fawsl.com.
“Leading up to the cup final on Saturday at Coventry against arsenal the girls are feeling pumped and excited about an amazing event in women’s football. For every child, girl or women this is the pin point of all women’s football. Anyone who’s everyone involved in women’s football and a lot more are going to be watching this event and it’s great to be one for the players involved in such a successful day.
“As you know we have played arsenal twice already and have been very lucky in both results not to get more points. Having both of these games and our performance under our belt gives us a massive confidence boost to go out and beat Arsenal. We are on a high going into the game and if we can play BAWFC way then arsenal will have to be on their toes.
“Don’t be under elusion to think that just because BAWFC are underdogs that we will be going and enjoying the day and having fun because one thing you will see with BAWFC we have a lot of players that have been there and done it and a lot of players still wanting there chance to be a part of it. BAWFC have a lot to prove and as underdogs we have one mission and that is to bring home the FA Cup.
“With the league coming to the end it’s been a crazy 6 months for me having moved here back in October and having nothing to do to now having far too much on my hands. With all the press releases and the support in Bristol from BBC Bristol, Point west and BBC radio i couldn’t ask for anymore from Bristol until the day we played arsenal and our opening game against Liverpool where we had turnout of 800 to 1300.......Wow what a turnout. With all the support of everyone in Bristol I am personally pleased and shocked with all the support we have been given. People have no idea how much this support means to us girls and would love to thank everyone that has helped and supported us from the word go, we hope that we can make Bristol a proud place by bringing back the FA Cup.”
