Reserves 5 Charlton Athletic 2

A confident Bristol side took control of the game from the start, with the majority of the possession throughout the match. Charlton took their chances well catching Bristol off guard, however it wasn't enough to win the match.

Within the 13 minutes Bristol took the lead from a short corner which Jaz Matthews curled over the bundle of players in the box and into the top left corner. Bristol came close to scoring a second when Robyn Pinder got onto the ball and turned the last Charlton defender, unfortunately only to put it wide of the post. Charlton equalised when catching out the Bristol defenders in possession at the back, slotting the ball into the corner of the net 10 minutes from time.

Responding to Charlton's equalizer late in the first half, Matthews hit a shot from outside the box early in the second half which flew past the Charlton keeper to make it 2-1. 2 minutes later Pinder scored her first from a Ashleigh Harris assist. Bristol continued to look comfortable with the 3-1 lead. However giving away a freekick on the edge of the box ended with the ball in the back of the Bristol net, the Charlton midfielder with a well placed left footed shot.

With the score at 3-2 coming up to half way through the second half Harris was denied the chance of scoring after breaking into the box, but could only watch her chances get blocked by the Charlton defence.

After 70 minutes a fourth goal for Bristol Academy as Ellie Sargent beat the Charlton defender to cut the ball back to Pinder who found the back of the net. Nine minutes later Matthews completed her hatrick with another great shot from the edge of the box, making it 5-2 with four minutes to go.
